Mostess Box Office and Studio Organization

If you’ve ever done a complete organization overhaul of a closet or room, you know how big of an undertaking it can be. But sometimes that’s the best way to tackle it: all at once!

And that’s just what I did with my new studio and office space. It took an entire day, but it was such a great feeling seeing it all come together, especially from the mess we started with (see pile below).

First things first, what made the whole process that much more enjoyable was working with Professional Organizer Lindsey Lichty @llorganized. Hiring an organizer is worth every penny! They have ideas for exactly where to put everything and come up with storage hacks and solutions you might never have thought of.

Now, here’s how we tackled the mess that was my gigantic pile on the floor -

First, I unboxed everything and it was horribly overwhelming. I then went to Home Depot and picked out a shelving system. I decided to go with an all-white system that is adjustable. I picked Rubbermaid because they were a good price and I could easily go online or back to the store and purchase more shelves later if I wanted to change it up.

And then I installed the brackets and shelves. Well, actually my brother installed them; it was a family affair!

Then I had Lindsey onsite to organize all our items in both our studio and loft. I needed everything to be functional and inspirational.

Most items went on the shelving system in the studio. Other items, such as office supplies and less pretty things, were stored in the mirrored credenza.

I also needed a dedicated work space for the Mostess team so I created a second office inside the studio. The Mostess loft is where my desk is, as well as a living room area that serves as a team meeting area and a place where we display seasonal products.

I’m so thrilled with how it all came together, and I can’t begin to describe how excited I feel that it’s all organized! I feel officially ready for 2018.

A few great tips from Lindsey -

·       Use clear containers for storage so you always know what you have inside.

·       Decorate and display current seasonal items. We put all our spring and summer products on display in our Mostess loft for inspiration! Fall and Winter took a back seat and were styled in the studio on the main shelving system.

·       Keep everyday items at "eye level" so you don't have to search for them.
